Description

There are 6 solar power plants with a total rated power of 223 kW operating on the roofs of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana.

The first power plant with a rated power of 17 kW was installed on the roof of building A and connected to the grid on 14 December 2010. The PV module field of this power plant is oriented 25° towards east in line with the building and placed at an optimal inclination of 30°. The power plant consists of 4 arrays of modules that are connected directly to the inverter.

In 2025, an additional 4 power plants were installed on the remaining free roofs and were connected to the grid on 25 February 2025. The new power plants with a total rated power of 206 kW have different configurations of inverters, inverters with optimizers and microinverters. The orientations also differ, which in some places adapt to the slope of the roofs, and in some places are placed in a 10° east-west configuration. The power plant on the roof B also includes a test field in which modules with different cell types are included.
