Marko Jošt’s record solar cell
October 17, 2016
Marko Jošt, PhD student at UL FE is pursuing his PhD in Laboratory of Photovoltaics and Optoelectronic under supervision by Prof. Dr. Marko Topič. At MIDEM 2016 conference, Marko recently reported on successful development of a new generation of thin film solar cells. In collaboration with Helmholtz Zentrum Beriln they developed a Perovskite solar cell with conversion efficiency above 16%. Despite a current world record efficiency at 22%, this is an important milestone in Slovenian photovoltaics.
According to Marko Jošt, the Perovskite solar cells will have a bright future, once the two main challenges, the stability and upscaling, are resolved.
