Classificaton of the Earth to 12 climate zone for photovoltaics

October 21 2019

PV Magazine emphasized the work of Laboratory of Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics. In the paper by Julian Ascencio-VasquezMethodology of Köppen-Geiger-Photovoltaic climate classification and implications to worldwide mapping of PV system performance research team of LPVO developed a new methodology for global climate classification intended for use in photovoltaics. The paper published in the journal Solar Energy classifies the Earth into 12 photovoltaic climate zones based on the climate, amount of radiation and a combination of population density and total area.

Article in Journal Nature Communications

July 5 2019

An article entitled Tailor-made nanostructures bridging chaos and order for highly efficient white organic light-emitting diodes was published in the prestigious science journal Nature Communications, in which the associate of LPVO, Dr. Milan Kovačič, as the second author, collaborated with the optical modeling of sinusoidal periodic structures. His work contributed to a more detailed understanding and evaluation of the high experimentally achieved efficiencies of white OLEDs made on random sinus-like nanostructures.
